It's deja vu all over again.
The commuter train was delayed again last nite.. for a freaking hour. First of all they didn't tell us of the delay until after more than 1/2 hrs of waiting, then they finally announced that it has been delayed for 35 minutes more. By the time a train arrived, it was so full, i can practically see faces plastered on doors. When the next one arrived, my blood was boiling like hot lava. Luckily it was not as full as the first one.
But the guy i was talking about yesterday save the day for me.. yeah the singing guy. Except he wasnt singing last nite. That doesnt mean he was quiet tho. He's slowly starting to be my fav guy, cos he offered me a seat. Who would have thought he could be a gentleman, albeit a weird one.
Anyway, as i sat, i took out my sudoku puzzle and started wringing my brain. the guy was standing beside me, he look at my puzzle and started sprouting random numbers to no one in particular. It turns out, he was sprouting possible lottery numbers, and he thought i was collecting them. See, my sudoku puzzle is a 'medium' level puzzle, and it was stated as such at the top of the page. and the guy thought it reads "MAGNUM". then he started rambling on that he was never lucky at lottery, but "Insya Allah" one of these days his luck will turn. Did i mention that's he's Indian? But he sure like saying Insya Allah, he said it numerous times during his one sided conversation.
He made the journey back feels shorter. Didnt have time to dwell on the train delay and my ire. Was too busy trying not to laugh.

The Joy of Public Transport .... Interesting Commuters
There's not much to look forward to everytime I took the packed train to work and back again. Contemplating getting sqeezed in between all the strangers (cant call of of them strangers tho.. maybe nodding acquantance as I see some of them almost daily on the train) like a tin of canned sardine just deflate me more at the end of a working day.
But now and then, its presented some of the most interesting, shall i say, comedic relief to an otherwise boring routine. Just a couple of nights ago, on a packed (as usual) train back home from work, I was provided with such relief. I was trying to ignore all the crowd and concentrating on solving a Sudoku puzzle, when I suddenly heard a voice joyfully singing, not humming mind you, but really singing out loud a Tamil song.. one after another. At first i found it annoying as heck, then I started to find it comedic, when the guy suddenly graciously inform everyone and no one in particular, "I'm not mad or crazy ok.. I'm just happy..".. then he happily resume his singing. Man, was he a happy bloke, cos he didnt stop singing... from Tamil songs to funny Malay ditty "Kecik kecik, lembu jaga, sedah besar, masuk askar....".. or something to that effect. Thus i was treated with a free concert to entertain me on my journey.
Most time when I took the commuter train (in the morning or in the evening), i promptly close my eyes and fell asleep. That's if I'm lucky enough to get a sit, but if not, i dont let that stop me from catching a few Z's. After years of numerous train rides, i'm proud to say i'm an expert at sleeping on my feet. But on the rare ocassions that sleeps just escapes me, i turn to my next favourite passtimes, reading, crossword or sudoku puzzles, or if i have none of those on me.. people watching. I observes how ppl sleep on the train (and hoping i dont look even remotely like that when i was sleeping), how the guys just cant seem to keep their knees together when they are sitting, but instead splayed them out as widely as possible, how some ppl just cant help but read the papers the person next to him/her is reading to the point of getting right into their faces. How a lady's clothes doesnt match her 'tudung' or how humungous is the brooch pinning the 'tudung' in place perching on a lady's head like big dung beetle on a .. well, a dung. Or enjoying the brilliantly melodic musical composition of various snores and snuffles of sleeping passengers...
Thats about all that makes the daily commute on the train bearable... the interesting characters u meet and the various human behaviors, good or bad. Takes one's mind off one's problems and fatigue when oblivion is hard to come by.

What a guy would do for sexual gratification.. Ouch!
I was googling around for new myths and legend (if you've read my profile, you'll notice this is one of my interest), and I came across this cool site about Urban Legends, the truth or falseness of it. While browsing around, I read about a guy who work in a machine-shop who staples his own scrotum back on after he tears it off while masturbating at his work place using .. get this.. a canvas drive belt of a large floor-based piece of running machinery. Ouch!
Apparently he didn't feel the pain at the time of the incident (shock and andrenaline rush can do that I guess) cos after stapling it back on, he zipped up, and resume work. He didn't go and see the doctor until 3 days later when he cant stand the fever and pain any longer.
Its so bizarre its funny, but I'm sure the guy in question didnt think so. Boy did he learn his lesson not to play at the workplace that day. Read it here.

Hmm.. have I been here before?
Yup.. its been.. (who cares, nobodys counting) .. since my last post. Am I internet savvy or what?
Well, I have an excuse for this.. really. Not that its a good excuse, but who cares really. Actually, I forgot the URL for my own blog.. plus my blog's username. I have this very inconvinient problem.. short term memory span.. cant seem to remember names (unless its of someone I saweveryday), numbers or dates (I would have forgotten my own birthdate if I wasnt reminded of it everytime I'm prompted for my Identity Card number, since the first 6 digits is my birthdate), events etc. So, it comes as no surprise I forgot my blog username. Yes I know i can find ways to look for it, but laziness being my 2nd inconvinient problem, alas, i haven't gotten around to looking for it until today.

My Lovely Sam Soon
anybody watched the korean series My lovely Sam Soo? i dont normally watch korean drama, but this is the exception. it's hilarious. i will never miss a day, so i'll make sure i'm home every weekdays before 8.30 p.m.
its a romantic comedy about Kim Sam-Soon (played by Kim Suna who gained 15kg to play the part) a homely 30 year old pastry chef (who is fat by korean standard) who fell in love with a young, handsome and rich restoran owner Hyun Jin-heon (played by Hyun Bin) after they signed a 'love contract'. its a story of women empowerment, where a woman doesn't have to be bautiful and young and refine to catch a man's heart. despite being a unlady like, obstinate and speaks her mind, she managed to be endearing at the same time. and her kindness and spirit caught the prince charming's heart despite the rough roads they had to travel.
now why cant malay movies/drama be that exciting. i dont watch much malay series on tv cos they dont seem real. normal ppl dont speak in formal Bahasa Melayu. they speak what we all call 'bahasa pasar'. it makes me feel as if i'm watching the news or something. especially if it was meant to be a comedy. the thing i noticed about malay comedy is, if the cast is as big as a house, or as skinny as a rail, or has buck teeth.. they are funny. doh! thats discrimination. and they are always trying too hard to be funny.
what makes a show funny most of the time is the script. the korean series My Lovely Sam Soon has a great script. and the characters are very interesting. no stereotyping there. they show that there's no black and white in life. no good and bad.. instead the good can sometimes be bad and the bad can sometimes be good... and still be damn funny. the main character Kim Sam-Soon is a woman who speaks what she thinks, honest to a point of being rude but has a kind heart that makes ppl who hates her LIKE her. one can never completely hate her. and the hero Hyun Jin-heon is a rich chauvinist who thinks his money can buy him anything and he can be a complete snob. but his tormented soul melts the heroine's heart. even the hero's mother the dragon lady has a good side.
My Lovely Sam Soon or My Name is Kim Sam-Soon (Nae Ireumeun Kim Sam-Soon) was the most popular Korean TV drama in 2005.

Getting Close to Nature
Last Saturday, me and my two sis went to the nite safari at the Malacca Zoo. it was really just a spur of the moment thingy. we were just 'leparking' (lazing) around in the living room when my sis suddenly jumped up and said " lets go to the nite safari!" it was 6.30 p.m and Malacca is about 1 1/2 hrs away from where we live. but then, it is the nite safari, and it just won't do to arrive there early, so by 7 p.m we were off.
the highlight of the day has got to be the slow loris (cakap melayu nyer kongkang ). These little critters really steal our hearts with their soulful big starry eyes and slow poetic movement. and they are slow, the make their movement seems like a form of art. they are really from the primate family, and they spend most of their time on trees. they have big eyes that are fixed, so that to see the surrounding areas, they have to move their head just like an owl.
but the attention grabber had to be the armless slow loris (it was featured in Majalah 3). it uses its legs only to climb up trees and swings from branches. its really amazing. and he really love the attention he got from visitors. the more people, the greater its antics. show off! we spend 30 minutes outside the lorises cage just watching them. i wished i had my digi cam then. but it was a spur of the moment kinda trip, i didnt have time to charge digi cam.
we also went to the zoo gallery where they display real authentic hehehe frozen animals, including the famous Puchong Crocodile, so named cos it was captured at the Puchong old mine. Man! the sucker is BIG. it had to be about 10 feet long and as heavy as a tanker.
by 11 p.m our feet was aching and its time to head home, but not before stopping by the souvenir shop. i bought myself a miniature dragon fly on a stick complete with flapping wings when shaken. by 11.30 p.m were were on the highway, only stopping to eat. by 1.30 a.m i was already in never-never land.
all in all it has been a worthy day, a difference than our normal weekends spent sleeping, eating, watching tv, surfing the net, eating , sleeping, and did i mentioned eating?
I've Regained my Memory
Not that bad huh.. 6 months since my last post. my previous record was a year. i confessed tho, the real reason i remembered at all about this blog is because i've added in into one of my favourite links, and this morning i accidently clicked on it when i meant to click on something else. ok, i'm gonna meditate for a minute to find inspiration on what to write. be back in a jiffy!

i remember..
3rd of my blog.. and i remember i have it. lets hope i will continue remembering it and it wont get lost in cyberspace. ppl often said i sometimes stop halfway through when i did anything is because i have a short attention span. and i think i agree with 'em.
today i went to an in-house training program. what i like about trainings is free food.. the downside of it is i often to sit through boring talks and speeches and i had to struggle to keep my eyes open.. while trying to keep my mind from wondering. but todays training seems to be interesting. but for free food.. and a time off from the office.. i'd sit through any boring talks and speeches anytime...
looks like another wet evening coming.. so gotta rush back home .. untill the next day.. or the day after.. or the day i remember to add anything of significant..
